The feeling of this screen burning into my retinas
A one way trip into this self-reflective writing nebula
If I'm not punk enough for this, why do I want it so bad
I'll never be the next Johnny Hobo, I grew up with more than he ever had

And if all my strings snap
And all my pens dry
at least I'll have my friends with me
and that unrelenting hate for life
I don't wanna revolt against the system that oppressed me
I don't wanna kill a cop, some of their bravery impressed me
I might not be punk enough to rail pills in an alley
I might not be folk enough to live in a log cabin

All I know is this system needs to change, it's racking up my thoughts and it's infecting my brain
I hope you know I'm not trying to complain.
I want to know that the world won't ever be the same
When I'm through with it, this place won't be afraid.
This anarchic, fuzz-rock, anti-folk paradise I've made

Maybe I'm not punk enough to stick my tongue between my teeth,
I hope you know there's a punk-rockstar hiding underneath
If this world wants me to go down without a fight
